A total of 14 percent of electricity normally consumed on Saturday evenings was saved during Earth Hour on Saturday.
The WWF initiative which saw many business houses and households switch off unnecessary lights for one hour saw a dramatic energy conservation.
Ashwini Prabha of the WWF said they have received statistics from the Fiji Electricity Authority since they have been keeping a close eye on all the major stations in Viti Levu.
