The Flying Fijian preparations for next year's Rugby World Cup in New Zealand will start earlier than the 2007 side that reached the quarterfinals in France.

Speaking on a talk back on our sister station Viti FM last night, head coach Samu Domoni Junior revealed that all players who are vying for a spot in the team to the World Cup will have to attend a trial in July next year.

Domoni said that the 2007 team that played World Cup champions South Africa in the quarter-final, trained together for only a month before leaving our shores but next year's team will march straight into camp after the trials in July, which will give them a solid two months to prepare.

Domoni added that the Fiji side which will go to the Northern hemisphere tour in November will have majority of the players who will play in the World Cup.

Fiji is in Pool D in next year’s World Cup with South Africa, Samoa, Wales and Namibia.
