A five bedroom house in Vusiya Nausori has been completely destroyed by an early morning fire today.
Divisional Crime Officer Eastern ASP Ramesh Chand confirms the fire started at 2 this morning when the owner of the house was drinking grog at a nearby house.
Police and Fire Authority Officers are currently at the scene and are trying to determine the cause of fire.
The estimated cost of damage is not known at this stage.
Meanwhile, a fire destroyed a two bed room house in Nadawa at around 11:30 last night. Police confirm that the house was completely destroyed and initial investigations suggest that the fire may have started from a lit candle.
