Police are investigating an early morning fire that completely destroyed a four bedroom concrete house in Lokia Nausori.

According to Police the fire started at 4 this morning and it has been established the house was vacant when the fire started.

The house belonged to a retired Fiji Development Bank Officer who had gone to visit his family in Laqere.

Firefighters could not reach the house on time as the feeder road that leads to the house was blocked by some vehicles which were parked overnight.

Police and Firefighters are currently at scene trying to establish the cause of the fire. The cost of damage is not known at this stage.
