A woman in her late 20s died this morning after the private car she was travelling in collided head-on with another car in Pacific Harbour after 7 o’clock this morning.

Police officers at the scene have confirmed that the deceased and her husband both work in Suva and were on their way when the accident took place.

Police believe that the driver of the other private car is believed to have been drunk. It is alleged that the driver hit two other cars before colliding headon with the victims car.

He has been taken to the Navua police station for questioning.

Meanwhile, an early morning accident in Malaqereqere, Sigatoka has claimed two lives while another passenger has been rushed to the Lautoka Hosiptal.

Officers from the Sigatoka police station are at the scene trying to establish the cause of the accident.

The two, who were trapped inside, have been taken to hospital.

The accident took place after two cars collided head on.
