The European Union has provided $45,000 for a workshop to be held together with the Education Ministry on techniques of educational planning.

The workshop is to be held next week and will also focus on statistical data collection and the use of both qualitative and quantitative methods of education.

This training is a proposal by the Education Ministry for the management and implementation of restructures that are to be implemented in the near future.

The course instructors are from the UNESCO Regional Office in Bangkok, Thailand.
A 33yr old unemployed man of Lami charged with larceny, burglary and escaping from lawful custody was today sentenced to 18 months behind bars.

On 9th August 2007 Josua Sade stole a motor bike, shirts, diamond and gold rings and other items worth $5330 from a house in Lami.

He was arrested but escaped from the Lami Police Station and was later arrested on 20th April this year in Lovu, Lautoka.

He pleaded guilty to the charges.
