The European Commission Delegation in Fiji has confirmed that the EU released $2.7 million to Sugarcane Growers Fund for cane re-planting last Friday.
An official statement is expected to be released next week by the new head of the European Commission Delegation.
Sugarcane Growers Council CEO, Jai Gawander said this money was expected to be released this year however due to the events of December 5th the assistance was delayed but added that they are happy about the release of the funds.
