The European Union will halt millions of dollars in aid to Fiji if the interim government fails to hold General Elections in March next year.
Director General of the European Commission in Brussels, Roger Moore said apart from holding elections Fiji had made a number of commitments to the EU which should be fulfilled before aid money is released.
Moore has raised concern that the path to hold elections is not clear however he is optimistic that Fiji will make progress in this direction.
Fiji's Sugar industry is depending on EU for over $350 million assistance.
