ECREA officials are seeking a time to meet with Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama to hand over their petition regarding opposition over bus fare increases.

Director of ECREA Chantelle Khan said with the growing interest from other communities, they will continue to collect petitions which exceed 23,000 already.

Khan said although they met with the permanent secretary at the Prime Minister’s office yesterday, the office has indicated openness to the petition.

A date of the meeting is yet to be confirmed.

Khan said the presentation of the petitions will be done by a delegation of community people.
