The Ecumenical Centre for Research Education and Advocacy said that although they were not given an invite to the National Council for Building a Better Fiji, they would still be a part of the process at a community level rather than at the formal level.

Director Chantelle Khan said that right now they are closer to the communities while allowing nation building to take place.

However, Pacific Centre for Public Integrity Director Angie Heffernan said that the fact that the eight interim ministers are included in the National Council is an indication that the interim regime does not have support for the Charter outside its own political circle.

Meanwhile, the President the National Federation Party Raman Pratap Singh said they have written to Commodore Bainimarama informing him that the Party's Working Committee will be holding its meeting on the 2nd of February where the invitation, the proposed People's Charter and political developments in the country will be discussed.

Singh said the he had earlier declined the invitation and will not be able to re-consider or accept the Interim Prime Minister's invitation until the meeting.
