ECREA gets more support to revoke bus fare increase
Director Chantelle Khan said they have also been invited to Vunidawa this weekend where they have started their own petition on foolscap paper. She adds Nadi women from community groups have also e-mailed expressing their full support.
Khan adds they will be shifting through the petitions to ensure that they are not tempered with as they would like these petitions to reach the correct decision makers.
She said they are in the process of setting up a meeting with the Prime Minister's office and have asked that the Ministers of Transport, Education and Finance, and Regional Manager of LTA be present in order to accept these petitions and results of the survery.
Khan adds they look forward to handing these over to the relevant stakeholders so that people burdened most with these bus-fare increases, will know that their leaders understand their plight and will decide in the interest of the people.
The petition is expected to be handed to Government next Wednesday.
