Stemming from the idea of addressing social, religious, economic and political issues, the non government organisation ECREA celebrated its 9th birthday yesterday.
Director Chantelle Khan said the issue of poverty is real in Fiji's society and this is due to policies put in place which have not been well thought out by those in authority, and ECREA's role is to try and help those less unfortunate who do not have the proper knowledge of how these policies work.
Khan said the idea of setting up ECREA started from three theologians who felt the need to address these issues.
