Police confirm this afternoon that the General Secretary of the Nationalist Vanua Tako Lavo Party Iliesa Duvuloco and five others are still in police custody.

Director Operations Waisea Tabakau said Duvuloco and others were taken in over the weekend and it is not known when they will be charged or released at this stage.

They were allegedly distributing pamphlets that breach the Public Emergency Regulation, according to Tabakau.

He confirmed the pamphlets to allegedly cause instability were mainly distributed in the rural areas.

Tabakau earlier said that anyone plotting against the government and planning to cause instability will be taken to task and they will decide soon on whether charges should be laid against the six men.
