Fiji born flanker Andrew Durutalo has been selected in the USA Rugby Men's Sevens team to play at the Rio Olympics next month.

Head Coach Mike Friday has selected his best 12 which will be captained by Madison Hughes.

Hughes is joined by veterans Zack Test, Folau Niua, Danny Barrett, Garrett Bender, Maka Unufe, Perry Baker, Carlin Isles, Chris Wyles, Nate Ebner and Ben Pinkelman.

Coach Mike Friday says they are looking forward with confidence to the challenge of meeting tournament favorites Fiji and the strong Argentinian side.

Friday says while they are not the pre‑tournament favorites like Fiji who have to play with that expectation, they are a team who are hugely respected and feared by all other countries as genuine contenders.

The Fiji women’s and men’s teams will undergo one more week of training at the Uprising Beach Resort training camp before leaving for Rio this Saturday and next Tuesday.

Fiji will take on Brazil in their first Rio Olympics pool game at 4.30am on August 10th, they will then face Argentina at 9.30am before taking on USA at 4.30am on August 11th.
