Duo To Lead 7s Team
Vice-captain in the opening leg of the 2008-09 IRB 7s series in Dubai and George, Etonia Naba alongside Vaturu lad Vereniki Goneva have this afternoon been named as co-captains for the Digicel Fiji 7s team to Wellington and San Diego.
Making the announcement this afternoon, Digicel Fiji 7s Manager, Alifereti Malo says that the duo were chosen due to the experience they both had.
Speaking to Fijivillage, the shy spoken Naba said that the task that has been shouldered on him is a big challenge but he is ready to work with Goneva in leading the young batch.
A surprised Goneva said he did not expect the appointment but was ready to be a good leader to the young boys on and off the field.
The team leaves our shores for Wellington tomorrow morning and is in Pool D at the Wellington 7s tournament.
Fiji meet USA in their first pool game at 12:44pm on Friday, they meet Cook Islands at 3:40pm and play Samoa at 8:12pm.
