The Dubai Sevens Tournament has not been a happy hunting ground for the Digicel Fiji Sevens Team in the past 12 years as well as for coach Iliesa Tanivula.

Fiji last tasted a win in Dubai in 1998 but for Tanivula, the worst memory was last year when he lost the World Cup Sevens in the quarterfinals to Kenya and once again in the Dubai Sevens his side lost to Samoa in the semifinals.

With 4 days away from the opening leg of the IRB World Sevens Series, Tanivula said the Dubai leg is always difficult as it is the first tournament of the series where a lot of teams have not had much game time together.

He added he is confident the boys will go out there and give it their best shot not just for themselves but for their families and their country.
