The Nadi Weather office said the dry weather in the Central, Eastern and parts of Northern division may continue till the end of this month.

Director Rajendra Prasad said they are monitoring the situation however frequent rainfall is expected to start in early April which may cause flash flooding in the Central and Eastern Division.

He added that the current weather is just temporary and they cannot figure out what weather pattern is causing this dry season.

Meanwhile, the Water Supply Department has advised people to prepare themselves as the prolonged dry weather may cause major water disruptions around the country.

People have been called not to waste water and store water every day for emergency purposes.
