10 drivers were booked last night for driving under the influence of alcohol.

These drivers were caught under “Operation Blitz” being carried out by police in the western division.

A driver was also arrested and taken in for questioning after he tried to run away from traffic officers upon failing a breathalyzer test.

Meanwhile, in the past 2 weeks under “Operation Blitz” a total of 885 drivers have been booked for speeding, 332 have been caught for illegal operations, 156 cases of careless driving, and 169 other offences have been recorded.

In addition 43 drivers have been caught driving without seat belts on while 15 drivers have been caught driving without licenses.

Operation Blitz continues in the Western division.
