Labasa Police have managed to establish that the person whose truck was caught carrying thousands of dollars worth of marijuana from Natovi to Vanua Levu, stays in Nasinu.
According to police, the truck driver when questioned told them that he was told by the truck owner to transport the mattresses to Labasa town on Thursday.
He also told investigating officers that he was unaware of the dried leaves that were inside the truck.
The truck owner, who stays in Nasinu, also has relatives in Batinikama, Labasa. Seaqaqa police said the truck has specially welded compartments in which the dried leaves were contained.
The owner is expected to be arrested soon.
Meanwhile, it took detectives from Labasa and Seaqaqa the whole day yesterday to dismantle the truck to recover marijuana stored inside the welded compartments of the truck.
The street value of leaves confiscated is over $100,000.
