Drotini ruled out of 1500m final
Drotini failed to recover from the injury while running the 5000 metres final where she won the gold medal.
Athletics team manager Joe Rodan said they do not want to risk her injury.
Rodan said Drotini is a star in the making and this is not the end of the world for her.
Meanwhile Makelesi Bulikiobo will be going for her third Gold today in the 200 metres. Bulikiobo, Alena Vadrasamu and Anameli Navu-kitu will first compete in the heats at 1:45pm while the final will be held at 4:50pm.
In the mens 200 metres semifinals today Niko Verekauta, Iliesa Namosimalua and William McGoon will be in action at 1:55pm.
In the mens 5000 metres final Votualevu Secondary school student Sanjay Kumar will be running at 4:20pm while Soko Salaqiqi and Milika Tuivanuavou will compete in the womens field events.
Fiji outrigger canoeing team had to settle for the bronze medal in the women's 20km V6 final today.
Tahiti took out the gold and the silver going to Cook Islands.
The mens V6 team will compete in the 30km final at 1:30pm today.
Team Fiji now has 23 gold, 37 silver and 32 bronze.
In Rugby League the Fiji Bati side will play against Tonga in the semifinals at 2pm.
Fiji is favourite to win the Gold medal later this afternoon.
In Volleyball, the Fiji womens volleyball team will take on New Caledonia in the semifinal at 2:45pm while the mens team will face Tonga for 5th and 6th place playoff.
