Defending champions of the girls division Adi Cakobau School failed to kick start day two of the Triple N Zone on a high after their star long distance runner Akesa Drotini failed to win the 3000m open girls race.

She came third in the race going down to an unknown and bare footed Maria Tinai of Nakasi High School who bagged the gold medal.

Drotini had yesterday started the campaign for ACS by bagging the first Gold of the Day in the 1500m and was aiming for a repeat this morning.

At the moment the 4*100m heats is currently underway with the finals to begin with the 800m and 200m.

Looking at the Triple N Zone Medal tally:

Defending champions in the girls division ACS lead with 15 Gold, 1 Silver and 6 Bronze.

Second is Lelean Memorial School with 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze while third is Vunimono High School with 1 Gold and 2 Silver.

In the Boys Division:

Lelan Memorial lead with 9 Gold, 3 Silver and 6 Bronze.

Second is Sila Central 4 Gold, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze while Rewa Secondary is third with 3 Gold, 1 Silver and 4 Bronze.
 
The game is currently underway at the TFL Stadium with the 4*100m heats underway.
