To prevent accidents from taking place at traffic lights, drivers have been called on to stop their vehicles when the light turns to amber instead of speeding.

The Chief Executive Officer of Land Transport Authority, Etuate Koroi said people should note down the numbers of vehicles who fail to stop at red lights and lodge complaints with police and LTA.

He said all the drivers in the country should follow the rules by stopping when the light turns amber.

His comments come after some callers complained that LTA officers chase them when they do not stop when the light is amber.

Koroi said police and LTA officers have the right to do so and drivers should abide by the rules.
