A 29 year old driver of Lautoka is in serious condition after he was run over by a truck loaded with cane yesterday.
Police Media Officer West Wame Buatolu has confirmed that the victim who is a lorry driver was sleeping between two cane trucks in the yard when a lorry driver reversed the truck without realizing that the 29 year old was sleeping at the back.
He received serious injuries on the left side of his head and was conveyed to the Lautoka hospital where he is admitted.
Police are calling on people to refrain from sleeping beside or underneath vehicles as it can be fatal.
