A 45 year old driver of a government vehicle charged with causing death by dangerous driving was released on bail by the Ba magistrates court yesterday afternoon.

The accuse was allegedly involved in a hit and run incident in Ba last Saturday where a mini van driver of Lomolomo Lautoka was hit while standing on the roadside.

The court was told that the accused is also being charged with failing to stop after the incident and failing to report the matter to police.

The accused is expected to appear in Ba court next Thursday.

Director Traffic, SP Mahesh Mishra has called on motorists to take extra precautions while driving at night as police will take tough action against those who breach road rules.
