Police have confirmed that the driver who was involved in the accident between Samabula and Nabua yesterday is on the run.
Acting Chief of Intelligence and Investigations ACP Luke Navela says the driver fled the scene and they are currently looking for him.
There were four passengers in the vehicle.
A 21-year-old man of Cunningham who was one of the passengers, died at the CWM Hospital yesterday.
Police say the private car they were travelling in veered off Ratu Mara Road and tumbled 40 metres down a cliff at around 6.30 yesterday morning.
The other three passengers are still admitted in a critical condition and Police believe the four were drunk.
The condition of the driver is not known at this stage.
