A 25 year old man charged with dangerous driving occasioning death and failing to comply after an accident was granted bail by the Nadi Magistrates court late yesterday afternoon.
It is alleged the driver hit a 22 year old man of Namaka Nadi on Saturday however he allegedly fled the scene and was later arrested in Nadi Town with the assistance of some people who informed the police about the accident.
Shanil Chandra of Vatoalevu in Nadi was bailed on the sum of $1000 with assurance.
He has also been ordered to surrender his travel documents.
No plea has been taken and the matter has been adjourned to 8th June.
