A 43 year old man appeared in the Nadi Magistrates Court today facing charges of causing death of the four people who were travelling in a tourist bus that veered off the road in the Nausori highlands in Nadi.

Muktiar Singh who was the driver of the tourist bus is charged with 4 counts of dangerous driving occasioning death.

Magistrate Laisa Laveti has deferred the plea after Singh asked the Court for him to arrange a lawyer for himself.

Singh has been granted bail on $900 assurity and has been told to hand in his travel documents to Police.

The case has been adjourned till the 6th of January next year.

The four Asian tourists died instantly after the bus they were travelling in went off the road and plunged 100 metres down the hill.
