Police are looking for a driver who was involved in a fatal hit and run accident in Lovu, Lautoka, last night.

Assistant spokesperson Corporal Suliano Tevita has confirmed a man was walking along the road when he was hit at around 7.30pm.

People living in the neighbourhood who heard the sound came to rescue the man but by then the driver had fled the scene.

So far it has only been established that the white car was last seen heading towards Ba.

The victim who is yet to be identified was taken to the hospital by those living in the area but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police are calling for information about the driver.
