Former Land Force Commander, Brigadier General Pita Driti and former Commander of the 3FIR Unit, Colonel Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara have pleaded not guilty to their charges and will reappear in court on the 1st of next month.

Driti has been charged with two counts of uttering seditious comments and one count of inciting mutiny.

Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara faces one count of uttering seditious comments under Section 67 of the Crimes Decree.

Both former senior military officers have been released on $2,000 bail with no surety.

Mara's lawyer is Devinesh Sharma while Driti's legal counsel is Filimoni Vosarogo.

Suva Magistrate Alofa Seruvatu has told both men to surrender their passports and not to interfere with any witnesses.
