It will not be an easy path for the South Seas Drifters which are made up of players from the Digicel Fiji 7s team, to try and win in the Gold Coast 7s this weekend.

A number of IRB 7s team like Samoa, New Zealand and Australia have also confirmed they will be part of this two day event which also have teams like Davetalevu from Nadroga, PNG, Taranaki from New Zealand and a Brisbane Fijian team.

Samoa will be captained by Simaika Mikaele who was a key player in their history making IRB World Series Championship winning team.

Drifters team will be led by Nasoni Roko and will have the likes Kelemedi Bola, Api Ratuniyarawa, Timoci Vakadranu and Mala Kuribau in the team.

Coach Iliesa Tanivula will name his final 12 member team for Dubai and South Africa when he returns from the Gold Coast 7's where teams from Australia and South Africa will also use this as their preparation ground.

The opening leg of the IRB 7s will kick off next month in Dubai on the 4th and 5th.
