Drifters advance to playoffs of Darwin 7s
The Iliesa Tanivula coached side defeated the Darwin Dingoes 36-5 in their first, hammered Randwick 40-0 in the second match and its last pool match the South Sea Drifters beat Darwin Olympic 34-0.
The Drifters which boasts seasoned sevens players like skipper Emosi Vucago, Watisoni Votu, Nasoni Roko, Mitieli Nacagilevu, Seremaia Burotu, Sitiveni Waqa, Nemani Nagusa, Semesa Gonevou, Kelemedi Bola and Lepani Nabuliwaqa will now play CA Brumbies in the quarter-finals at 4.20pm today.
Fiji's second team playing in the tournament, Davetalevu also won all its three pool matches yesterday and has qualified to play in the quarter-finals.
The Nadroga based side beat Kombat Cougars 7-5 in the first match, defeated PNG Barbarians 27-5 in the second match and in the last pool match, Davetalevu beat County King Browns 33-7.
Davetalau will now play Sunnybank in the quarter finals and the match will start at 5pm tonight.
