A team of Police Officers managed to confiscate $10,000 worth of dried leaves believed to be marijuana from the interior of Navosa on Sunday night.

Assistant Police Spokesperson, Corporal Suliano Tevita confirmed two villagers were allegedly transporting these leaves to a buyer in Sigatoka town, when they were stopped on their way by a team of Police Officers.

Tevita said the dried leaves weighed 2kg and was ready for consumption.

Police are now trying to locate these farms where marijuana farming is taking place with more raids expected soon.

The two villagers have been questioned and released as Police await the analysis report of the dried leaves from Koronivia Research station.
