Being an ex-police officer with the Fiji Police Force and landing a role in one of the biggest film production in New Zealand is a dream come true.
The journey has been a long one for Leonard Kumar who is one of the lead actors in the movie "Pump up the Mandali" which was shot in Fiji last year. Kumar moved to New Zealand in 2008 after serving in the Fiji Police Force in 2006.
Kumar said he always wanted to become a police officer and bagging a role with Purple Post Production was the icing on the cake.
Kumar plays the role of Abdul Mohammad who is a singer, dancer and taxi driver in Suva.
Pump up the Mandali is a story about four village youth who dream of becoming star musicians, but their dream is shattered by devastating floods which hit their village however they never give up hope.
It also features Navtarang radio personality, Sarvesh Singh.
The movie will premier in Fiji tomorrow.
