The Nadi Chamber of Commerce President hopes that next year's budget will boost the economy and investor confidence.
Dr Ram Raju commended the wide ranging incentives given particularly to the private sector.
However, he added that where these incentives take the economy remains to be seen.
While announcing 2009 National Budget on Friday the interim Finance Minister had announced Vanua Levu, Rotuma, Kadavu, Taveuni, Levuka, Lomaiviti, Kioa, Rabi and Lau, as tax free regions effective from 1st January 2009.
