Dr Anthony Provides No Proof
Village News has questioned the author, Doctor James Anthony to provide solid evidence to prove that the list of companies who he alleges are funders of the Duavata Initiative.
With the list of companies just typed out with no reference on where the information has been received from and the denial by all the companies, Doctor Anthony said his report is complete and the companies can take legal action if they are not happy with it.
He has also said nothing on the type of evidence provided to prove that the companies are members of the SDL's Duavata Initiative.
Doctor Anthony also stresses that no further work permit should be issued for any media executive.
Anthony also stresses that majority of the media newsrooms are being run by whites.
Anthony is of the view that the ownership, control and censorship is all handled by about eight whites.
When Village News questioned Doctor Anthony on whether he knows and understands the structure and the roles of the people in each newsroom in Fiji and if he could name the whites running the newsroom, he said he is not obliged to be cross examined by Village News.
Doctor James Anthony does not have an idea on how a newsroom operates in Fiji.
Communications Fiji Limited, Managing Director William Parkinson said that newsrooms are run by professional journalists in Fiji and there is no influence from anyone.
Parkinson while reacting to Doctor James Anthony's report where he maintains that newsrooms are being run by whites said that Anthony's report is baseless.
