National athletics rep, Iowane Dovumatua will be out to win the 100m senior boys title for Marist Brothers High School in the Coca Cola Light Games, as the school has not won the blue ribbon event for the past 13 years.

Former Marist student Isaac Mow was the last athlete to win the blue ribbon event in 1995 and since then Marist have struggled to stamp their mark in the senior boys sprints.

But this year, they have a good chance to break that record when Dovumatua, the favourite for the blue ribbon event will go head-to-head with Natabua's Alfred Smith and Queen Victoria School's Setareki Tikosaya.

Dovumatua, who won the Senior Boys 100m gold for Laucala Bay Secondary School last year, will be running for the second year in the same event and says his only aim is to break both the school and event record which stands at 10:74s, set way back in 1993 by QVS sprinter, Viliame Nasuku.
