The Lions have been hit with a double blow in the front row as two of their props will miss next month of Super Rugby at least.
The worst injury is to prop JC Janse van Rensburg who will miss the rest of the Super Rugby season after he tore his ligaments while CJ Van der Linde will miss the next four weeks.
The Lions meet the Sharks at 3.05am on Sunday.
On Friday the Crusaders meet the Chiefs at 6.35pm and at 11.05 the Force will play the Hurricanes.
