Don’t think that anyone is indispensable in this institution.
This was the message of Commissioner of Police Sitiveni Qiliho to 130 recruits that graduated from the 2017 Basic Recruitment Course in Nasova today.
Qiliho told the officers that they are not above the law and the police uniform does not give them absolute power.
He said members of the public don’t see the rank nor do they want to know how many years you have been in service.
He says all they see is the uniform and a person who is expected to provide a service.
He also called on the officers to be humble, loyal and honest saying that the uniform they wear instantly turns them into public figures and everything they do will be noticed and scrutinized.
35 female recruits also graduated today after going through a six month training course.
