FASANOC President Vidya Lakhan has stressed to the National Sports Federations not to take “tourists” to the Pacific Games in Noumea, but to take medal prospects only.

Lakhan made the announcement recently as some National Federations still have pending levies to pay up and also to cut down on expenses.

He stressed that another reason why he has made the call is because the cost of living in Noumea is expensive and athletes should have a lot of money if they are to do their shopping there.

The Fiji team has decreased its numbers dramatically from 550 in the last Pacific Games to 450 that they will be taking across to Noumea.

The Pacific Games will be held in Noumea in August.
