Tourism Minister Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum has urged the villagers of Drauniivi to not depend entirely on the money they will receive from tourists who will come and see their new tourist venture, the sighting of the “dolphins”.
While speaking to the villagers at the launching of their new tourism venture project, Sayed Khaiyum urged them to develop their skills and create Fijian artifacts they can sell to the tourists, to earn extra money.
Meanwhile, Drauniivi Turaga ni Koro, Patemo Moce said they will discuss this in the next village meeting, as this will not be a problem as they have ladies from the various provinces in Fiji, that have married men from Drauniivi, which will give them the opportunity to showcase their talent to reflect where they originate from.
Sayed Khaiyum has also asked the villagers to use the money they gain wisely, to improve their living standards and foremost the education of their children.
