The Public are being are warned not to buy frozen food as there is the fear of food poisoning or the food being contaminated.
Chief Health Inspector, Waisale Delai says that consumers must thoroughly check all frozen foods they buy from shops and supermarkets.
This is due to a power blackout caused by Cyclone Gene for the past two days.
He also adds that health inspectors will be checking shops and supermarkets.
Shopowners and supermaket operators are also being asked to dispose all defrosted food items.
