The General Secretary of Public Employees Union said they are not in favour of COLA being scrapped.
Pita Delana said they met with the Public Service Commission last Friday, where the Singapore policies were talked about and PEU made it clear to the Interim government that if they want to scrap COLA than they will have to agree to a few things the union is asking for.
The Fiji Nursing Association said the announcement is very sad.
General Secretary Kuini Lutua said Rishi Ram should have consulted them first as no formal talks have taken place on the issue.
The PSC Rishi Ram said the decision has been made by the PSC and the unions are now being informed and according to Ram, COLA will now be replaced by Performance Management System.
