The Fijian Teachers Association does not agree with the Public Service Commission's decision to scrap the Cost of Living Adjustment or COLA.
Association General Secretary, Maika Namudu said replacing COLA with Performance Management System (PMS) will not work for Fiji.
While the Fiji Nursing Association has expressed their disappointment and concern about the announcement of COLA being scrapped from this year, they say the Interim Government should really think of civil servants and what they offer the country.
FNA General Secretary Kuini Lutua said it is time for the Interim Government to realize the value of the civil servants.
Lutua said the revelation by PSC Chairman Rishi Ram yesterday about the scrapping of COLA, is not fair on civil servants.
PSC Chairman, Rishi Ram said the decision has been made by the PSC and the unions are now being informed.
