The Interim Education Minister Filipe Bole is calling on people to remember the true meaning of Christmas and not to get lost in the hype of commercialization.
He said that in the tradition of exchanging gifts, children can sometimes be blinded by the gift items, forgetting that it is the thought and the intention of sharing what matters most. He is calling on parents to remind children that there are millions of children throughout the world living in poverty.
He said the Lord Jesus is the reason for this festive season and one should not forget that he himself was born in a manger so people should remember his humble beginnings and be humble themselves.
