Nadi Weather Office Director Rajendra Prasad warns that people should not get complacent even if waters start to recede at times.
He says there will be severe flooding of the rivers in Nadi, Ba, Lautoka, Sigatoka and Rewa due to continuous rain, the high tide and continuous heavy rain up in the mountains.
Prasad stressed that even when rain stops along the coastal areas, there is very heavy rain in the interior of the larger islands and flash flooding of rivers and streams can be expected overnight.
