Teachers studying part time or undergoing training should not expect to get a refund from the Public Service Commission (PSC) like before.
The chairman for PSC Rishi Ram said the refund program has been stopped after much consideration.
Rishi Ram said there are many in-service training given for teachers provided they do not compromise their work with their studies.
He said many teachers still go for fulltime studies getting full pay however, this system only apply on a case to case basis.
Ram's comment come after the President of the Fiji Teachers Union, Balram this week said that teachers pay for their own studies without getting their money back unlike before, and that the Interim government should pay for the teachers wanting to pursue further studies to improve their academic qualifications and teaching skills.
