The Public Service Commission said the two Doctors that have been found guilty of negligence during and after five year old Shavneet Kumar's operation have been handed a reasonable fine.
PSC Chairman, Rishi Ram today confirmed that Doctor Luke Nasendra will be reprimanded and has been fined $500 while Doctor Teresa Lum will also be reprimanded and will be fined $250.
According to Ram, they can only impose fines which are in the PSC regulations.
He adds the parents of Shavneet Kumar have not been able to get the correct picture as to how their son died at the CWM hospital after being in coma for eight days.
Kumar's mother, Radhika Kumar stressed yesterday they are not satisfied with the decision taken by PSC as the penalty should have been harsher. She added they will pursue the matter in the High Court now.
