Save the Children Fiji is calling on parents NOT to solve their domestic problems in front of their children and NOT to use violence against their children when dealing with issues.
Chief Executive Officer Chandar Shekar said that a 10 year old boy been allegedly beaten by his father in Lautoka should be thoroughly investigated and the perpetrator should be firmly dealt with.
Shekhar said that a child growing up in an abusive household learns to solve their problems using violence which is not doing any good to the child as well as the nation.
Meanwhile, the Police PRO Sergeant Atunaisa Sokomuri said that they are still investigating the matter and have not charged anybody as yet.
The boy who is currently admitted at the Lautoka Hospital is alleged to have been beaten by his father three weeks ago however was taken to the hospital after he complained about body pains last week.
