The Vunivalu of Rewa Ro Epeli Mataitini is calling on the Methodist Church of Fiji not to use the Vanua of Rewa to push its personal agenda.
In a statement issued from the Vanua of Rewa, Ro Epeli said the church leaders should stay away from politics which is why the annual Methodist Church Conference was cancelled by the government.
According to Ro Epeli, it was the decision of the Church Standing Committee to defy the state’s decision that the annual conference will not go ahead.
Meanwhile, although the annual Church Conference has been cancelled, this has not stopped the Nadi Methodist Church circuit from collecting over $200,000 at the weekend for their soli to the Methodist Church.
