Diwali a time for rejoicing
However, there are some people out there who are away from their family members but hoping to see them again.
Fijivillage paid a visit to the residents of the Old People's home and got a chance to talk to some people who have been staying there for more than two years.
72 year old Shanti Devi, who was an only child, lost her parents when she was a kid.
She grew up working as a live-in maid and never married because no one ever bothered to see her live a happy life.
She also said that they will be happy to see other people visiting them.
On this auspicious day, she also has a message, and that is for the children to look after their parents and keep them happy.
Another resident, Ram Kirpal, who is in his 60s, said he has been living at the home for the last five years.
It is said that something inside us keeps us young and this is what Kirpal feels as he told us that he was not able to buy fire crackers as he was not well enough to go to town.
